By PR and Business Wire News, 8/27/2008 03:11:46 PM MT

Utah’s business landscape is rich with companies that have led the Beehive State’s economy to success. Even during these slow economic times, some companies have continued experiencing skyrocketing growth, proving Utah to be a good place to do business. Fifty of the state’s fastest growing companies were honored by Utah Business magazine during a luncheon and awards ceremony Wednesday, presented by Kirton & McConkie and Ernst & Young, and sponsored by Intermountain Financial Group, LLC, The Summit Group, Digital Bytes Production and Design, Web Audio Visual Communication.

“Our state has a rich history of extraordinary growth and progression in business, which is why we’re spotlighting 50 of Utah’s most innovative and fastest growing companies,” said Martin Lewis, publisher of Utah Business magazine. “In addition to the 50, we’re showcasing eight other companies that have recorded outstanding revenue growth…Each of the companies spotlighted today have demonstrated progressive thinking, hard work and innovation, making Utah one of the nation’s business leaders.”

The 50 honored companies have demonstrated they have what it takes to make it, with proven concepts and strategies that are propelling them to the top of the charts. The Emerging Eight, companies younger than five years, have shown to be promising, with revenues popping through the roof.

So what does it take to experience such phenomenal growth? “Dedication, devotion, a good, strong, hard work ethic, honesty and integrity,” said Geoff Granum, president and CEO of Silver Creek Development.

“One of the strategies we have used to sustain growth is to build a foundation of principles in the organization,” remarked Bryan L. Welton, Jr., CEO and president of Namifiers, Inc. “Then you can build your company’s culture from those principles.”

“It’s about providing real value for our clients and employees,” said Dave Thomas, president and CEO of thomasARTS. “We’ve had profits coming into the company and we share those with employees. Be generous with [employees], that’s what makes them feel like they own the company. And they’ll help make the company successful.”

Though they range from healthcare to technology to marketing, binding each company together are their entrepreneurial spirits, innovative business tactics and determinations to see the dream become reality, even when times get tough. Below, you’ll find a list of Utah’s fastest growing companies, as well as the state’s emerging eight. Each skyrocketing company will be featured in Utah Business magazine’s September issue.
